John King is the San Francisco Chronicle’s Urban Design Critic, a post he created in 2001. He is the author of Citiscapes: San Francisco and Its Buildings and Citiscapes 2: Reading San Francisco’s Architecture.
His work has received awards from the California chapters of the American Institute of Architects and the Society of Professional Journalists. John King is an honorary member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
