When Weather Changed the Course of History

 

Caroline Winterer is the William Robertson Coe Professor of History at Stanford University.  Currently Chair of the Department of History, Winterer specializes in American History before 1900, especially the history of ideas, political thought and the history of science.  Her sixth book, due out this year is:  How the New World Became Old:  The Deep Time Revolution in America.

Winterer received an American Ingenuity Award from the Smithsonian Institution for mapping Ben Franklin’s social network.
