Taking from his fields of History, African & American Studies, Centennial Professor in Religious Studies and Director of the Martin Luther King J. Research and Education Institute at Stanford. He is also an award-winning author, his most recent book, “The Gospel of J. Edgar Hoover: How the FBI Aided and Abetted the Rise of White Christian Nationalism” is very timely and has brought commendations from numerous publications.
Most recently Martin has become Co-Director of “The Crossroads Project,” with a $1million grant to advance public understanding of politics, history and cultures of African American religions.
