Gordon Clark earned a bachelor’s degree at Bowdoin College and a master’s degree in environmental management from Yale University. Before joining the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST), Gordon worked for land trusts in Maine and Alaska and for the Henry P. Kendall Foundation in Boston, a philanthropic supporter of healthy food systems in New England.
Clark joined POST in 2007 as a conservation project manager focused on land acquisitions; in 2010 he began a hybrid role working on both the land and fundraising teams. Clark’s work in land conservation included significant milestones including the purchase of San Vicente Redwoods, Rancho San Vicente and numerous other properties in Santa Clara County.
Clark was named senior director of development in 2016 and vice president of development in 2020. He spearheaded significant fundraising campaigns to support POST programs focused on Farmland Futures, Tunitas Creek Beach, Coyote Valley, and wildfire recovery and resilience. Under his leadership POST has preserved nearly 90,000 acres across the Peninsula and South Bay.
