Supercomputing For Science: Los Altos Native Works on Big Iron
Katy is the Project Director of the NERSC-10 system, a project to deploy NERSEC’s next generation supercomputing for the US Department of Energy’s scientific user community.
Her research interests include how experimental scientific communities can leverage High Performance Computing application and I/O performance, data movement, and management.
Before coming to NERSEC in 2006, Katie worked at the Flash Center at the University of Chicago on a parallel adaptive mesh refinement application.
Katie Antipas has an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Wellesley College. She grew up in Los Altos and graduated from Mountain View High School in 1995.
