Jessica Yu is an internationally renowned filmmaker whose films include the Academy Award-winning documentary Breathing Lessons and the feature Last Call at the Oasis. Many of her films, including In the Realms of the Unreal and Protagonist, premiered at Sundance.
She has helmed episodes of various television shows, including 13 Reasons Why, American Crime, Parenthood, and The West Wing. She has recently finished You Who Look, a short film about the artist James Turrell, and Forgeteveryone.net about Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web.
Garden of the Lost and Abandoned, her first book, will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt this fall. She lives in Los Angeles.
