Tim Farrell is a third generation Californian who has lived in Los Altos with his wife Lynne since 1963.

Tim taught English for 48 years at Awalt High School, Gunn High School, and Foothill College.

His specialties were Shakespeare, Dickens, and Hardy. In 2015, he gave a talk to the Morning Forum titled “A Not-so Secret Life: Charles Dickens in His Novels.”

Tim served on the Morning Forum Executive Board for 4 years – two years as Program Chair and two years as President.

In retirement, Tim has engaged in community theater, playing the role of Willy Loman in Palo Altos Players’ 2015 production of “Death of a Salesman” In 2019 he played the role of Dr. Bradley in the production of “The Man Who Came to Dinner.”

In 1976, Tim and Lynne made their first trip to London, where Tim purchased his first Hogarth engraving. It was the beginning of a collection that grew to 50 etchings and engravings during trips to England over the next 30 years.
