Bernard Roth’s pioneering contributions to robot kinematics and design have shaped the field of robotics and provided the foundation for the capabilities seen in articulated robots.  He is the Rodney H. Adams Professor, School of Engineering at Stanford and is one of the founders of Stanford’s “d school.”

Through project based learning he and his students have created innovative products to help improve life in the third world.

He holds both an MS and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University.
