Dr. Stephen L. McKenna M.D is the Chief of the Rehabilitation Trauma Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose California. He is an affiliated Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and of Neurosurgery, Stanford University School of Medicine.
He received his Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of California Berkeley, and his Doctor of Medicine degree, from Stanford University School of Medicine. Steve completed his clinical training at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where he was chief resident. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Neurocritical Care.
His interest in clinical trials began in 1995 when he was the Project Manager for the National Institutes of Health HIV vaccine trial site in Lusaka, Zambia. He is currently a Site Director for the Stanford Partnership for Spinal Cord Injury and Repair. The mission of the Partnership is to accelerate neuroregenerative research and the development of new treatments by facilitating collaboration between industry leaders, scientist and clinician.
